Set once for the group, tailored per location

Group menus in Excellent inherit: set a menu, package, or price once at the group level, fork it for a concept or a single location, and every value shows where it came from. Packages carry courses, choice groups, and per-head pricing; a location can override a dish or a price without breaking the thread back to the group standard. Connect real plate costs and the same menus show real margins per event.

What it does

Inheritance is the data model

Concept-to-location inheritance is not a copy-paste convention — it is how menus are stored. Change the group standard and locations follow; override locally and the override is visible, deliberate, and reversible.

Provenance on every value

Every price and dish answers 'where did this come from?' — group standard, concept fork, or local override. Drift between locations becomes something you can see, not something you discover.

Packages with real depth

Per-head packages carry courses, included choices, and modifier groups — the structure a fine-dining events menu actually has, not a flat list of lines.

Menus into proposals without re-typing

Proposal lines are picked from these menus, so quoting stays exact and the kitchen recognizes what was sold.

Real costs, real margins

Bring plate costs in from a spreadsheet or a live food-cost connector, and events report margin, not just revenue.

Import from what you have

Menus come in from spreadsheets, files — even a photo of the printed menu — as a reviewable draft you approve before it lands.

Common questions

Can one location have different pricing from the rest of the group?

Yes. Any location can override a price, a dish, or a whole package. The override is explicit — you can always see that it diverges from the group standard, and what it diverged from — and it can be brought back in line deliberately.

What happens to old events when we change a menu?

Nothing. Signed proposals and paid invoices are frozen snapshots; changing today's menu never rewrites what a guest agreed to last spring.

Can Excellent import our existing menus?

Yes — from spreadsheets and files, or from a photo of the menu itself. Imports land as reviewable drafts: you check what was read before anything goes live.
